A Majestic Mechanical Case Study: Building Cold Storage Walk-In for Budding Franchise
In August of 2024, Kernel was little more than an idea–a plant-based, automated fast food chain by the original founder of Chipotle Mexican Grill. But this “kernel” was a nugget of an idea with leaders planning for the franchise business to ramp up to 10 stores quickly.
To do this, they needed a test kitchen to create a menu, and the ensuing kitchen processes to deliver menu items to prospective customers. Kernel’s leaders turned to Dan Rizzo of Majestic Mechanical to build out this test kitchen with the most important piece of equipment first: The cold storage walk-in box
Case Study Highlights

Additional Details
Walk-in boxes for restaurant kitchens serve a similar purpose that goalies do in hockey or soccer. Oftentimes, coaches must build teams around professional goalies. Restaurateurs must do the same when creating their kitchens!
This is the reason Dan Rizzo brought his Majestic Mechanical team into Kernel’s new facility at 7:00 AM and only left at 2:30 PM when the walk-in box was built and getting cold! Majestic Mechanical creates cold storage systems that are reliable, energy efficient, and will remain cold for years to come!
