When was the company founded?
Majestic Mechanical was founded in December 1999. At that point, Majestic’s founder Dan Rizzo had been working for his family’s cold door repair business called Gina Marie Refrigerator Doors since 1988.
I had my twins in 1998, “ said Dan Rizzo as he recalled a busy time in business. It was at this time that Rizzo expanded from solely working the Cold Door Medic business with Gina Marie Refrigerator Doors, to working with refrigeration and HVAC engineers to set up efficient cold storage environments. Rizzo was trained to add this service to his toolbelt, expanding upon the work he’d been doing repairing broken cold storage equipment with Gina Marie. It was at this time that Majestic Mechanical was born.
“It was out of the request of customers who needed high level refrigeration engineers,” recalled Rizzo. “My first partner was incredible and I got my education through him. He trained me day in and day out to the point where I could be in a room with 10 engineers and hold my own.”
Today, Majestic Mechanical works on environmental chambers, walk-in coolers and walk-in freezers. Most refrigeration companies don’t offer a carpentry crew to build custom, cold storage environments–this is where the technicians at Majestic Mechanical made a name for themselves.
“The other guys wanted to do pre-fabricated stuff,” explained Rizzo. “But in NYC, spaces were tight. We weren't working in regular square or rectangle type spaces. We worked in ‘jogs’ or areas that are irregular. So, we became known for taking any difficult space and utilizing it for cold storage and refrigeration.”

Majestic Mechanical’s mission is to serve cold storage and HVAC equipment manufacturers, dealers, and the end customer to create cold storage environments and humidity-controlled areas that work reliably though the East Coast’s cold and warm seasons.
